The Setting

The Zerion Continuum

An infinite 3D sector grid stitched together by ancient warp gates. Every coordinate has already been named by cartographers — but most of it has never been crossed. Difficulty radiates outward from the origin in nine distinct tiers: the deeper you push, the rarer the loot, the stranger the wildlife, and the lonelier the radar gets.

  1. 01
    Tier 1 · Ring 0–20

    Contested Space

Inner-rim systems still patrolled by the founding races. Light pirate activity, mostly civilian traffic. Where every callsign earns its first scars.

  2. 02
    Tier 2 · Ring 20–50

    Embattled Sector

Heavily-trafficked frontier sectors with elevated pirate density. Some races here are hostile, others neutral — read the local patrols before engaging. Better gear starts dropping.

  3. 03
    Tier 3 · Ring 50–100

    Deep Void

Lawless deep space. Frontier civilizations dominate, hostile rogues are common, and motherships start appearing. Travel in groups.

  4. 04
    Tier 4 · Ring 100–200

    The Abyss

Apex civilizations begin to surface here. Spawns scale aggressively — expect dreadnoughts, gravity anomalies, and rogue pirate fleets above level 100.

  5. 05
    Tier 5 · Ring 200–400

    Nightmare Expanse

Reality begins to fray. Eidolon paradox-knights stalk these sectors, and rolling void-storms can trap a careless pilot. Bring a fleet.

  6. 06
    Tier 6 · Ring 400–700

    Apex Reaches

Capital-class hunting grounds. Astral Leviathans and Singularity Sovereigns stake claims to entire star systems. Loot here is rarely seen anywhere else.

  7. 07
    Tier 7 · Ring 700–1100

    Singularity Domain

Space folds around micro-black-holes built by the Sovereigns. Most pilots never return — those that do bring back tier-9 weapons forged inside event horizons.

  8. 08
    Tier 8 · Ring 1100–1700

    Transcendent Void

The map ends here for almost everyone. Everything you fight is apex tier. Every drop is legendary. The economy of these sectors funds the rest of your fleet.

  9. 09
    Tier 9 · Ring 1700+

    The Beyond

There is no upper bound. The deeper you push, the harder the universe pushes back. Where end-game pilots prove themselves — and where the truly legendary loot lives.

The Fifteen Civilizations

Six Cores. Six Frontiers. Three Apex.

Zerion space is divided between fifteen sapient civilizations. Race trait bundles tweak XP, mining and feel — never raw PvP power, so no faction has a strict combat advantage. Your ship, your loadout, and your moves decide the fight.

Sector Sovereignty

Claim it. Garrison it. Defend it.

Every eligible sector in the galaxy is claimable. Pay the credits, plant the flag, and your callsign goes on the public map next to that coordinate — until somebody bigger shows up.

  1. 01

    Claim

Fly to an unclaimed, lore-eligible sector with no living garrison and pay the claim cost. Costs scale with the zone tier — 12K credits in the inner ring, millions out in the Beyond.

  2. 02

    Garrison

Your sector immediately spawns a level-1 NPC garrison. Spend on upgrades to harden it. The garrison is the only thing standing between your name on the map and a stranger's.

  3. 03

    Earn

While you own the sector you get a 10% discount at its station and a daily-capped passive revenue share from every transaction that happens in it.

  4. 04

    Defend

If an attacker wipes the garrison the sector enters a 15-minute siege window. Stay present and they lose. Run and the galaxy gets a SECTOR SEIZED announcement with their name, not yours.

Every claim, siege start, siege interruption, and ownership transfer is broadcast on the global feed and into chat. Reputations are made on this board.

Planet Surfaces

Land on it. Walk it. Liberate it.

Every star sector hosts a procedural planet you can land on, drive across in your hovership, dig up, and eventually call your own. Six biomes, four base kinds, weather events, surface fauna, ruins to plunder and a capstone arc that flips whole worlds friendly. PvP-neutral, deterministic, and persistent — the planet you discover today is the planet every other pilot lands on forever.

Six biomes, one planet each

Lava, Ice, Snow, Dirt, Grass and Rock — every biome has its own heightmap, hazards, mineable mineral mix, weather roster and fauna. The blueprint is deterministic from the sector coordinate, so every pilot who lands at the same spot sees the same world.

Gravity, hover, jump

Your ship hovers a meter off the heightmap, gets pulled back down by gravity, and gets a single-press jump for cliffs and obstacles. Horizontal thrust only moves horizontally — no permanent flight on planet, no air-cheese.

Four base kinds, four economies

Spaceports sell consumables and run the liftoff pad. Outposts stock race tier-1/2 weapons and shields. Fortresses lock their tier-3+ catalogue behind +50 planet reputation. Refineries pay a +20% boost on raw minerals and gate tier-2 consumables at +25 reputation.

Excavation missions

A surface-only mission type. Accept it at any planetary base, fly to the dig site, and hold position for sixty seconds against the pirate wave the server schedules to interrupt you. Pays XP, credits, raw minerals and a chance at a codex unlock.

Ruins, codex & lore

Crash sites, precursor obelisks and collapsed colonies sprinkle every planet. Hold KeyE for three seconds to investigate, drop loot on the ground and unlock a codex fragment that gets archived to your account forever — readable from any station's Codex tab.

Per-biome weather

Lava eruptions, sandstorms, blizzards, bioflux blooms and meteor showers fire on a deterministic per-hour seed, so every pilot in the same sector watches the same event. Effects are ambient damage only — uniform across every race for PvP parity.

Surface fauna

Rock Grubs swarm, Lava Wyrms spit at range, Ice Serpents ambush from the snow, Bioflux Striders run you down on grass, Dust Reavers tank everything in dirt. Each kind drops Organic Matter — a new resource tier feeding Refinery crafting.

Per-planet reputation

Every planet keeps a -100 to +100 reputation score per pilot. Complete a mission for +5 (or +15 / +30 for Excavation / Liberate), investigate a ruin for +10, kill a hostile NPC for +1 (capped per visit). High rep unlocks the deepest Fortress and Refinery catalogues.

Liberate the World

Roughly one in six planets generates with a pirate garrison. The Spaceport auto-offers a one-shot capstone: clear every hostile on the surface, flip the world friendly, earn the Liberator codex badge and a permanent cosmetic. Liberation persists forever for the pilot.

Planets → Land. Mine. Liberate.

Economy

Trade across the galaxy.

A live economy with player-to-player escrow listings, race-gated NPC catalogues, and ownership perks for the pilots who actually hold the territory.

Player Marketplace

List anything in your hangar with a price and an expiry. Server-side escrow holds the goods, sweeps unsold listings on TTL, and posts the proceeds straight to your wallet on sale.

Station Shops

Every star-bearing sector has a station. Each station's catalogue is keyed off the dominant race — buy where the locals build and you'll see things no other shop carries.

Race-Gated Rares

Apex weapons, shields and engines drop into specific race shops only. Eidolon mirror-hulls. Singularity Sovereign collapse-tech. If you want it, you have to fly to it.

Owner Discounts

Owning the sector cuts the local shop price by 10% for you and feeds you a kickback from every other pilot who spends there. Hold a hub, fund a fleet.

Social

Fly together. Talk in the dark.

Persistent friends list, named fleets up to fifty pilots, multi-channel chat, public bounty boards, and live leaderboards. The void is less lonely with a wing on your six.

Friends List

Send and accept friend requests across the server. The list persists between sessions — log back in and your wing is still your wing.

Fleets up to 50

Create a named fleet, invite up to fifty pilots, share a fleet tag in chat. Fleet membership is its own chat channel — coordinate raids without giving the war zone a heads-up.

Chat Channels

Global, sector-local, fleet, and private DMs — all rate-limited and profanity-filtered server-side. Mention a callsign and they'll see it from anywhere on the map.

Bounties & Leaderboards

Place credits on a pilot's head and the whole server can see it. Top sieges, top kills, top wealth — every standing is tracked and ranked live.

Live Galactic Events

The server writes news while you fly.

Nine kinds of timed events spawn around the galaxy — some in the inner ring, some only in the Beyond. Each one lights up on the universe map and broadcasts to every pilot online.

Mothership Detected

A capital-class mothership warps in. Bring a fleet — solo runs end badly, but the loot is fleet-funding.

Pirate Raid Warning

An organised pirate fleet is inbound on a populated sector. Defenders get minutes to mass before the raid hits.

Faction Skirmish

Two NPC factions are about to fight in open space. Pick a side, salvage the wrecks, or just watch from a safe burn.

Sovereignty Report

A periodic galactic dispatch on who owns what — claims, sieges, transfers. The board everyone watches.

System Broadcast

Operator-driven announcements: seasonal modifiers, server-wide alerts, story beats. Read them carefully.

Void Anomaly

Reality bends in a deep sector. Apex pirates circle the rift; whatever drops out of it is rarely safe to touch.

Gravity Storm

A rolling Singularity-Sovereign weather front. Movement degrades inside the storm — fly the edge or commit and pray.

Singularity Breach

A captive collapse-star slips its leash. The first fleet on-site loots the most; the last fleet on-site is the loot.

Aurora Cascade

An Astral-Leviathan harmonic ripples across multiple sectors at once. Apex drops in every one, while it lasts.

Gameplay

Browser-native, MMO-scale.

Built for pilots who want a real galaxy — not a lobby. Mobile-friendly, controller-aware, persistent across every device you log in from.

Infinite Procedural Galaxy

Every 4096u sector is named, owned, and generated deterministically — the same coordinate, forever, for every pilot.

Warp Gate Network

FTL on a deterministic sub-grid. Gates sit inside safe zones where weapons are suppressed — cross the void to reach the next jump.

Seven Ship Classes

Scout, Fighter, Interceptor, Cruiser, Freighter, Destroyer, Mothership. Hull × shield ≈ 1.0 — no class wins by default.

Energy & Boost Cooldown

Boost is a real resource. Drain it to zero and you're locked out until you regenerate to 20% — read the bar before you commit.

Stations & Missions

Every star-bearing sector hosts a themed station. Shops, crafting, hangar, marketplace, and procedural mission boards (up to five active).

Alien Languages

Each civilization has its own glyph script. Decrypt enough fragments and you can read their broadcasts — and their threats.

Mobile-Ready

Touch controls, on-screen HUD, landscape lock, and a lightweight startup overlay. Fly from your phone with no second-class controls.

Death & Insurance

Lose XP and dropped resources on death — or burn an insurance consumable to skip the penalty. Apex sectors hit harder.

Progression

Ten gear tiers. Legend rank. No ceiling.

Pilot levels are uncapped — and so is the gear ladder. Every tier you climb opens new weapons, shields, engines and consumables, with apex-tier legendaries gated to the deepest sectors.

Pilot Ranks

Cadet through Legend (level 100). XP keeps accruing past Legend so deep-tier grinds never feel wasted.

Tier 0 → Tier 10

Starter loadouts in the inner ring. Apex tier 7–10 gear unlocked in The Singularity Domain and beyond — black-hole casters, aurora choirs, infinity lances.

Crafting & Resources

High-tier gear is built from race-specific resources. Mine an apex sector, haul the resource home, craft something the inner ring has never seen.

Getting Started

From zero to pilot in under a minute.

No installs, no downloads. Pick a callsign, pick a race, and the void does the rest.

Certify

Create a free Terran Coalition pilot ID. Every player starts in the tutorial sector regardless of final allegiance.

Choose Your Race

Pick from six playable Core civilizations. Traits tweak XP, mining, and feel — never raw PvP power.

Fly Out

Leave the station. Chart a waypoint on the M map. Warp, fight, haul, trade. Log what the sensors can't explain.

Leave a Mark

Claim a frontier sector, reinforce the garrison, start or repel a siege. Every change broadcasts to the whole galaxy.

FAQ

Quick answers from the deck.

Is Zerion really free?

Yes. The core MMO is free to play in your browser. There is no install, no download, and no paywall blocking core gameplay.

Does it run on mobile?

Yes. Zerion is browser-native and designed to work on modern mobile browsers as well as desktop, with touch-friendly controls on phone and tablet.

Is there PvP?

Yes — open across most of the galaxy, with safe zones around stations and warp gates. Race and ship bonuses are tuned so no faction has a strict PvP advantage.

Does my progress persist?

Yes. Pilot level, credits, cargo, sector claims, callsign, friends and fleet are stored on the live server. Log in from anywhere and your ship is still where you left it.

Which civilizations can I play?

The six Core civilizations are playable: Terran, Zyr'kathi, Luminari, Vok'ren, Obsidian, and Void Walker. The six Frontier civilizations and the three Apex civilizations (Eidolon Conclave, Astral Leviathans, Singularity Sovereigns) live in the deeper tiers as NPC factions.

How does claiming a sector work?

Fly to an unclaimed sector with no living garrison and pay the credits. Costs scale with zone tier. Owning the sector gives you a 10% station discount and a daily-capped revenue share from local trade.

How do sieges work?

Wipe the garrison of a claimed sector and a 15-minute siege window opens. Stay present until it elapses and you take ownership — abandon the sector and the siege fails. Both outcomes broadcast galaxy-wide.

Can I trade with other players?

Yes. The player marketplace lets you list anything in your hangar with an expiry and a price. The server escrows the goods until they sell or expire, then posts the credits to your wallet automatically.

Can I play with friends?

Yes. Add friends, form a named fleet of up to 50 pilots, and use Global / Sector / Fleet / DM chat channels. Fleet kills, sieges, and bounties are all credited to the group.

Is there an end game?

No win state — only the next tier. Push past Singularity, Transcendent and into The Beyond, where apex civilizations rule and tier-10 legendary loot drops. The void does not end. It only quiets for a while.

Can I land on planets?

Yes. Every star sector hosts a procedural surface with six possible biomes (Lava, Ice, Snow, Dirt, Grass, Rock). Request liftdown at the orbital station and you take your hovership down to the surface — gravity, jump, surface bases, fauna, weather and ruins included. The blueprint is deterministic per coordinate, so every pilot lands on the same world.

What's different about the planetary shops?

Four surface base kinds, four economies. Spaceports sell consumables and run the liftoff pad. Outposts stock race tier-1/2 weapons and shields. Fortresses gate their tier-3+ elite catalogue behind +50 planet reputation. Refineries pay a +20% boost on raw mineral sales and gate tier-2 consumables behind +25 reputation.

What is the Codex?

A persistent lore archive on your account. Investigate a ruin (hold KeyE three seconds) and you drop loot AND unlock a codex fragment. The codex is readable from any docked station's Codex tab and survives between sessions, devices, and even premium lapses.

What is the Liberate the World arc?

Roughly one in six planets generates with a pirate garrison. The Spaceport on those worlds auto-offers a one-shot capstone mission: clear every hostile NPC on the surface to flip the world friendly forever for that pilot, earn the Liberator codex badge and a permanent cosmetic. The arc is per-pilot — every pilot who lands gets a chance to liberate.
